Sarah Whelden
Sarah Whelden hails from Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, where she honed her skills on an old VHS camera and a dual deck VCR. After studying music, film, and photography at Hampshire College, she and her (now) wife Kelly picked up and moved across the country to the little city of Portland, OR where they quickly realized they weren't in Seattle (oops). The move was perfectly timed with the onslaught of the recession, and so she made ends meet as an ice cream maker for a couple years before finding her way back into the film industry.
Today Sarah works as a full-time Director of Photography shooting commercial, narrative, and documentary films. She relaxes by traveling with her wife in their camper van shooting stock footage and landscape photography, or just laying at home with her cat.
"Nothing excites me more than telling stories that make the world a better place to live."
