Emma Josephson is a queer screenwriter and director from Portland, Oregon. Much of her inspiration comes from transforming the mundane parts of reality into thoughtful visually driven stories with splashes of surrealism. Emma began her career making award-winning student films. Since then, she’s gained experience working on independent productions and commercials, and music videos. She now works as a freelance commercial video editor in collaboration with some of the world’s largest companies while developing her own independent passion projects.
Her films have been official selections at festivals including the Atlanta Film Festival, Beyond Fest, and will soon be featured on Short of the Week. Her screenwriting has been nominated for a Student Emmy and emma’s films have received support through Film Pipeline, OMPA, Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC), and Koerner Camera. She is finalizing two feature screenplays titled “There is No Good Place” and “Strings Attached” which she will direct, and is in post-production for her next short film “All Roads Lead to Someone Else.”
